Enrique Acebo is an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of León. In his research, Dr Acebo studies how firms can leverage new products and processes in an innovation ecosystem for value creation and competitive advantage. His work explores the impact of collaborating with different types of external partners and which combination produce the most significant impact. It thereby sheds light on the external knowledge acquisition business strategies in markets characterized by high technological competition and the resulting implications for economic growth and environmental sustainability.

To study the determinants of firm innovation activities and performance, his research builds on ideas from various disciplines, including economics, business strategy and geographic economic. Furthermore, it employs various methods from econometrics and the field of causal inference. Dr Acebo’s work provides policymakers insights on optimally designing public R&D support schemes.

Dr Acebo’s research has been published in Business Strategy and Environment, Science and Public Policy and European Journal of Innovation Management. He serves as Social Media Editor of Industry & Innovation. He earned a Ph.D. with and International Mention and Summa Cum Laude in business economics at Univerisity of León in Spain.
